Industrial, Interior and Visual Communication Design (Undergraduate program)

A Bachelor of Science in Design (B.S.D.) degree program has been offered by the Department of Design at The Ohio State University since 1968. There is a three year required sequence of courses after a year of foundation studies.

Summary of the program

Students enter the University as Pre-Design majors, and apply to enter the program in their first year at the university, while taking general education and pre-design foundation courses. Accepted students then complete basic two- and three-dimensional design courses, and move on to a sequence of courses in the designated major. They also take special-topic courses across the three disciplines in such areas as design history, research methods, materials and processes, and professional practices.
