Professor Emeritus Reinhart Butter has partnered with former Department Chair and Professor Emeritus Charles Wallschlaeger to attract Design Central and RichardsonSmith Designers as main sponsors of a one-week workshop for junior level design students in honor of the Department’s official 40th anniversary.
"The idea is to provide for an interdisciplinary team experience by involving all three majors in the assessment of contemporary problems, and the development of initial design concepts that effectively address a select group of future challenges" says Butter.
To enhance the workshop sessions, a public presentation on 'Representative Personal Design Work' will be delivered by the three honored guests and workshop facilitators: George Burden, Edgar Reinhard, and Dean Lindsay, on February 12, from 4-6pm in 250 Knowlton Hall. And a public panel discussion on 'Design Education for the 21st Century' will be held at the Wexner Film/Video Theater on February 14, from 4-6pm, with the additional guests: Gregg Davis, Haig Khachatoorian, and Judith Riley. Moderators will be Department Chair Wayne Carlson and special guest Deane Richardson. Design Central invites you to an 'Open House' following the program on the 14th.
The Department of Industrial, Interior, and Visual Communication Design wishes to express our sincere gratitude to our co-sponsors: Design Central, RichardsonSmith Designers, the College of the Arts, and the Wexner Center for the Arts.
