Reinhart retired in June of 2007 and received an affectionate send-off from the industrial design students during the Spring Show exhibition.  With over 40 years of service to the Department of Design, you can hardly expect Professor Butter to disappear after having received his first retirement check. 

Since being named an Emeritus Professor in the Department of Design, Reinhart accepted an invitation to visit Kyonggi University in Korea to teach their product design students for nearly two months.  Since his return to the US, Reinhart has partnered with former Department Chair and Professor Emeritus Charles Wallschlaeger and local design firms to offer a special workshop series for design students in honor of the department’s official 40th anniversary.
