There is no reason to purchase traditional analogue design supplies prior to the beginning of autumn classes. We work with the local art and design supply stores to create a kit of all needed supplies to ensure that all materials can be acquired at the best possible prices.
Pre-Design kits will be sold in Hayes Hall lobby during the first week of classes. The kits generally cost between $200–250 for autumn semester.
It is recommended that students in the Pre-Design Foundations Program have their own laptop computer. Students admitted to Pre-Design may use either a Mac or PC computer. That stated, students studying Industrial Design or Interior Design should be using MS Windows based PC computers. Students studying Visual Communication Design should be using an Mac OSX based Apple computer.
Our Pre-Design Foundations classrooms are equipped with 2–3 permanent desktop computers for use by students who are unable to meet this expectation or who experience temporary loss of the use of their own computer.
