Welcome to Assistant Professor Scott Denison

August 9, 2013

The Department of Design at The Ohio State University is happy to announce the appointment of Scott Dension to the position of Assistant Professor and Foundations Coordinator. Scott will direct the instruction of Graduate Teaching Associates and lecturers in the first-year, foundations courses, and teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Scott is an Ohio State design alum, having completed his M.F.A. in 2013 in Design Research + Development. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Design from Ohio State from 1977, in Visual Communication Design.

Scott previously taught at Ohio State as a Graduate Teaching Associate from 2011 to 2013. He has a substantial professional practice background. He has directed design services for large corporations, and has run his own design consulting firm. Scott's graduate research was in design fiction, visual narrative, graphic novels, and 3D computer graphics -- and he will continue that research direction as a faculty member in Design at Ohio State.
