There is no doubt that the moving process is heavy on the environment with 900 million cardboard boxes used each year, 8.4 million tons of junk leftover, and 30 million rolls of tape used. Not to mention, moving can be extremely stressful, but what if it didn’t have to be? Cradle is a digital platform that allows its users to plan their move, hire local movers, shop sustainable moving supplies, and donate unwanted items. We help our customers get excited about moving by walking them through a series of steps that helps them plan their move to relieve any moving stress. We implement sustainability by encouraging our users to find local boxes, use reusable boxes, and label their boxes responsibly. Cradle also uses biodiesel fuel and is moving all-electric come 2024!

Sarah Torchia is a 2022 Ohio State University graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Visual Communication Design. Her creative interests include branding, user experience and interaction, photography, and fashion. She hopes to use her design background to create meaningful experiences and positive change. She looks forward to the next chapter of life and to let her creativity, curiosity, and empathy drive her goals and ambitions.
