Current CV

Sasha de Koninck is a visiting assistant professor in the Design Department at the Ohio State University. While studying textiles in undergrad, she was introduced to the field of electronic textiles and wearable technology. She went straight to graduate school after completing her BFA, in order to further continue the expansion of her research. She recently completed her Ph.D at the University of Colorado Boulder, where she worked with Laura Devendorf and the Unstable Design Lab. She has worked as an educator at all levels–undergraduate studies, K-12, and with adults in the museum setting.

Her practice spans the fields of writing, textiles, design, installation, performance, and wearable technology. She has exhibited across the United States and Europe, most recently with a solo show in Boulder, CO, for her project ‘Unlearning the Garment from the Body’. Sasha is also the director of the Research Lab of Ambiguous Futurology and a co-organizer of the residency ‘Electronic Textile Camp’.

Currently, her research is focused on objects that are designed to fall apart; the undoing of labor; memories recorded in stained garments; and wearing secondhand clothing.
