Thomas Ellsworth is an MFA candidate and Graduate Teaching Assistant in the Design department of Ohio State University. He has worked professionally as a technical artist for the LDS motion pictures studio, an R&D engineering intern at DreamWorks Animation and Pixar Animation Studios, and as a technical director at DreamWorks Animation.

His past studies have focused on 2D/3D hybrid animation and his masters thesis included extending the animation method used by Disney Feature Animation on "Paperman". He has also done educational and professional work developing new tools for lighting artist in 3D animation.

He lives outside of Columbus with his wife and 3 daughters.
