Second-year Design MFA student Borami Kang and Associate Professor Yvette Shen co-authored and presented a research poster titled “Brand Identity Design with Generative AI: Between Automation and Authorship” at IASDR 2025: Design NEXT, held in Taipei, Taiwan, in December 2025.

The research examines brand identity design in the context of generative AI, with particular attention to questions of automation, authorship, and the evolving role of designers within contemporary creative practice. Through this work, the authors explore how AI-supported design tools are reshaping decision-making, creative agency, and professional identity in branding processes.

IASDR 2025 convened an international community of design scholars and practitioners around the theme “Design NEXT,” featuring conversations on artificial intelligence, emerging digital practices, sustainability, and the future trajectories of design research and education.
