Internship Spotlight – Averi Wolf at MA Design

Averi Wolf

Averi Wolf is a third-year student in Interior Design at The Ohio State University. Averi interned at MA Design in Grandview, Ohio for the summer of 2022, where she worked in the Interiors Studio.

Averi worked on a range of different projects, mainly focusing on workplace design. She had the opportunity to collaborate with many talented designers who helped her improve her skills tremendously. From sketching floor patterns to developing presentations for clients, picking up redlines in Revit and going on job sites for punch lists, Averi was able to experience all phases of the design process during her time at MA. Avery said, “I loved being able to sit in on client meetings and go to job sites, it taught me how to communicate and interact with clients, a valuable skill needed in my future professional career.”

She also had the opportunity to gain insight into the value of brainstorming and concept processes through creative writing and cannot wait to apply these skills in her upcoming projects at Ohio State.

One of Averi’s favorite parts of working at MA Design was learning about their Futurism sector. “One of the many things that drew me to MA was their presence in futurism and design innovation. I am really interested in Trend Forecasting and it was amazing to learn more about the topic as part of my experience at MA. Not only are they teaching me about interior design, but also the future of it!”

Averi also took part in MA Design’s rebranding, which was a unique experience and taught her a lot about the behind the scenes of a design firm. Averi commented that “seeing everyone come together for the rebrand launch really showed me how much these people value each other. It was refreshing and comforting to see a company act as family -- they truly welcomed me with open arms.”

Averi is continuing her internship at MA Design through the autumn semester and cannot wait to continue to learn and grow with this firm.
