Overview

This course explores the future of time-based media, immersive environments, artificial intelligence, and emerging media technology using speculative design strategies and approaches. The course will survey innovative trends in developing technologies and the use of speculative design as a means for storytelling, visualization, and creative expression. The course will assess, hack, and experiment with future media possibilities
 

Objectives

Upon completion of this course, students should be able to do the following:
  • Implement speculative design strategies to explore future media possibilities
  • Develop strategies to address ethical, privacy, and safety concerns of future media
  • Demonstrate the ability to collaborate with other designers
