
The public is invited to an afternoon of festivities on Saturday, September 20, to honor the completely transformed Sullivant Hall and the university’s arts departments and centers that are housed there. Events include:
A grand ribbon-cutting and remarks from leaders from The Ohio State University, celebrating the opening of the transformed Sullivant Hall and honoring major donors, Lawrence and Isabel Barnett. (12:30 p.m.)
Sullivant’s Travels, a site-specific promenade performance work by world-renowned director/choreographer Stephan Koplowitz, which serves as the centerpiece for the grand opening. With 11 simultaneous performance elements, Sullivant’s Travels will feature artists and performers from Ohio State’s Department of Dance, School of Music, and Advanced Computing Center for the Arts and Design (ACCAD), with a cast of more than 35 dancers and 50 vocalists. (1 p.m. and 4 p.m.)
Open houses in the building’s resident units: Department of Dance; Department of Arts Administration, Education and Policy; Advanced Computing Center for the Arts and Design (ACCAD); and the Barnett Center for Integrated Arts and Enterprise. In addition, the Billy Ireland Cartoon Library and Museum will be open. (1 p.m. to 5 p.m.) and the Wexner Center for the Arts will be open at noon.

- 12:45 pm (approx.): Dance performance begins, with 11 pieces of Sullivant’s Travels happening throughout Sullivant Hall
- 2 pm: Finale of dance performance in Barnett Theatre
- (Subsequent finales will be scheduled based on number of visitors.)
- 4 pm: Second performance of Sullivant’s Travels begins, with 11 pieces happening throughout Sullivant Hall
- 5 pm: Finale of Dance performance in Barnett Theatre.
