After more than forty years of service to The Ohio State University and the Department of Design, Academic Counselor Karen Dimmick has announced her retirement at the end of May 2013. 

Alumni and friends of the Department of Design are invited to attend the 2013 Design Exhibition Professionals Night on Tuesday, April 30th, 5–8 p.m. at the Urban Arts Space, where they can give their best wishes to Karen in person. 

While we know that no one can ever replace the years of experience that Karen has contributed to the department and our students, we believe that we have found a very good person to grow into the position. 

We welcome Ohio State Design alum Gabe Tippery as Design's new Academic Advisor. Gabe will start this new role on May 1st, and will overlap with Karen for the month, so that a transfer of knowledge can occur. Gabe's deep knowledge of the department and the design fields will serve him well as takes on this challenging role.
