Industrial design students compete in IDSA Student Merit Awards

Three students

Three 4th-year industrial design students from The Ohio State University, Kaitlyn Smith, Matthew Turnquest, and Annie Roo, showcased their exceptional work at an annual Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) Student Merit Awards event. The annual IDSA Columbus Student Merit Awards event is an opportunity for design students to showcase their work and compete against other talented students. The event is highly competitive, and it provides a platform for students to gain recognition and visibility as they prepare to enter the workforce.

Held on March 21, 2023, the IDSA event brought together students from Ohio State, the International Center for Creativity (ICC), and the Columbus College of Art & Design (CCAD) – a tradition among Columbus area design schools to showcase emerging design talent from across the region.

Kaitlyn Smith took home top honors at the event for Ohio State; her outstanding work impressed the judges, she will be representing Ohio State in the upcoming IDSA Central District competition.
