Third year MFA student Juan Diego Torres Brenes LaRoche submitted an entry to the 2024 Webby Awards and is now among five nominees for the Webby People's Voice Award in the student category for his work, “The First Metaverse Internship in the World". 

Juan has been nominated for work done during an internship with Havas Health and You, the wellness division of the global advertising company known as Havas. Juan was chosen to be 1 of 4 interns for the world's first metaverse internship, where each intern was tasked with creating unique and intriguing experiences for a metaverse platform of their choice. Juan's project focused on healthy money habits aimed at teaching commonly overlooked topics to young kids and teens. His project, titled "Missing Museum," was launched on Roblox during his internship and was shared with the Havas global network.
