MFA Alumnus Erik Evensen Wins Teaching Award
Congratulations to Erik Evensen, who received the Outstanding Teaching Award from the University of Wisconsin–Stout in Fall, 2022. Erik is an Associate Professor in the Department of Design and director of their MFA program. His work, research, and teaching focus on the synthesis of illustration and visual communication design—his course load has included studio courses in design drawing, illustration, concept art, graphic design, and typography. From 2012–2013, he was a visiting faculty member at The Ohio State University, serving as interim Design Foundations Coordinator and teaching in the Visual Communication Design area.
Erik has a diverse creative background as a graphic designer, illustrator, and graphic novelist. He received his MFA in Design Research & Development in 2009. He also holds a BA in Studio Art from the University of New Hampshire, and a Post-baccalaureate Certificate from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University.
