MFA Graduate Student Spotlight: Jennifer Lim

Jennifer Lim

Welcome to the Department of Design’s weekly graduate student feature highlighting the work and accomplishments of our MFA students!

This week, we are featuring Jennifer Lim, a second-year MFA Design Research and Development graduate student. Her areas of expertise include UI/UX design, human-centered design, and social design.

Jennifer views design as a means to understand the wants and hidden needs of others. She enjoys listening to stories and perspectives from people of diverse backgrounds, and through design and storytelling, she aims to enhance the lives of those who are typically overlooked. While her educational background is in industrial design, she discovered her interest in design research and has decided to further her education in this field.

At present, Jennifer is engaged in research on conspiracy theorists and their loved ones. Her goal is to use her design skills to discover potential interventions for managing the fixation on conspiracy theories and envision a future in which we possess the tools to deal with the issues that come with these obsessions.
