Peter Kwok Chan and Mila Gajić Present at AMPS Conference
Peter Kwok Chan, Associate Professor, and Mila Gajić, VR Lab Manager & Developer in the Emerging Technology Studio, presented their collaborative project Conversations with Trees: A Biophilic Dialogue between Nature and Design at the AMPS (Society. Space. Screen) conference on December 12, 2024. The conference was part of the Mediated Cities Conference Series, hosted by Arizona State University, with virtual participation from CEESAR School in Brazil and Yonsei University in South Korea.
Their project explores both the physical and virtual dimensions of Conversations with Trees, a mixed-media initiative designed to connect communities with trees through a visual narrative installation and immersive experience. The project examines how combining augmented reality (AR) technology with a biophilic approach can foster dialogue about nature, design, well-being, coexistence, and interconnectedness.
