Industrial Design faculty member Scott Shim and graduate student Morris Koo were recognized with a "winning work award" in the Opus Design Award 2010 competition.

This event is an annual eyewear design competition held in Japan, and is well-recognized internationally. Shim and Koo placed in the top 10% out of 700 entries from over 50 countries.

Their design concept imbeds a digital navigation display system in eyewear that also functions as traditional sunglasses.
