Welcome Amanda Huynh
The Department of Design at The Ohio State University would like to extend a warm welcome to Associate Professor and Industrial Design Coordinator, Amanda Huynh.
Amanda Huynh is a product and food designer working at the intersections of community-building, social innovation, and sustainable design. Huynh’s experience includes lecturing and working across a variety of design disciplines in Vancouver, Bali, Shanghai, Barcelona, and London, England. She completed her Master of Design at Emily Carr University and her Master of Science at Scuola Politecnica di Design.
Her research focuses on liberatory, participatory design futures as well as food design and social practice, designing for dignity in aging through the lens of food, tangible interfaces in co-design, and embodies physical play in remote co-design technologies for children.
Coming to Columbus from Brooklyn, Amanda is looking forward to exploring Ohio, meeting students, and discovering what it means to be a Buckeye. Beyond her research, she can be found visiting foreign grocery stores, spending time with her daughter AJ, and acting as social media manager running an Instagram account for her dog and cat.
