They worked as an Undergraduate Researcher for the AIMS Lab on a variety of Augmented Reality projects built in the Unity Game Engine as well as assisted with the development of a 3D physics-accurate blacksmith game utilizing the JAX-FEM deformation simulator. Recently, they worked with the James Medical Hospital to develop VR training material for Nursing staff through creation of an educational game teaching staff members how to prepare and locate the key items in a crash cart. In their research, they hope to learn why players form emotional attachments towards non-player characters (NPCs) and how those findings can be used to design improved dialogue systems and behavior trees in games. As a result, most of their research tends to primarily on reputation systems in games, NPC believability, and para-social relationships. In their free time, they can be found studying various forms of dance ranging anywhere from Ballroom to Line Dancing to West Coast Swing.
