Balance is a body and mind health center that focuses on teaching teens how to use physical and mental exercises to help mental and learning disabilities. It provides a unique alternative to medications and a welcoming place for people to socialize during activities.

Activities offered range from low intensity classes like meditation and yoga to high intensity classes such as bouldering and boxing. The supplemental health classes will cover a broad curriculum to educate about the connection between the body and the mind. Adolescents with disabilities and behavioral issues can benefit from a healthy balance and use it to cope with everyday obstacles instead using of medication. It has the potential to create a healthier society in Franklinton, create different job opportunities for the population, and provide a place where adolescents can safely build a stronger future as a community.

The prospective building is located in Fire Station 10 Engine House in Franklinton, just a couple blocks away from the Healthy Living Center and Mt. Carmel Hospital. The amenities offered are specifically chosen to support Mt. Carmel’s Healthy Living Center. Balance will allow Mt. Carmel to expand their adolescent Mental Health program to bring in new patients and support the current and future population.
