Ballot; A digital resource to assist young adults with the voting process

Voting is a right, yet it is one that Americans increasingly don’t exercise. Whether it’s because of confusing ballot language, or the perception that these issues don’t pertain to a particular voter—the simple fact is, voter turnout is decreasing, especially from young adults.

For my senior thesis project I researched drop points in the voting process by young adults. Using that information helped me developed the idea for a convenient responsive web app to help engage young adults into the voting process. Ballot can walk users through the registration process, help them research issues and candidates in clear, easy to understand language and remind them when and where to vote. The app also allows the user to create a handy checklist to remind them how they intend to vote.
