Bloom: Grocery and Kitchen

Bloom: Grocery and Kitchen

Arielle Lucas

Interior Design, 2021

Bloom is the creation of an interior design program that is located within the West Side Spiritualist Church in Franklinton.

The program seeks to build off of the current nutritional assets in the community, such as Franklinton Farms, while addressing the lack of supermarkets in the neighborhood. Bloom provides access to fresh produce and nutritious food with multiple vertical farm stands and an on-site garden.

The space offers a kitchen space for classes and resident use, a community space, and a bulk refill section to reduce packaging waste within the grocery store.

Bloom’s goal is to empower residents to build a healthier community.
