Public places are democratic. They allow movement, sound, art, peacefulness and have an ability to bring people together. Public spaces are more than just physical sites for individuals to obtain fresh air and sunlight—they also allow seemingly disparate individuals to find themselves in close enough proximity to converse, learn from one another and create community.
This movements to reclaim public space is about making our urban centers places for human connection. Resource Center is physically and psychologically aiming at meeting groups and users’ constant needs and meeting the diversity of the community. From college student, pre-elementary kid to adults who seek for jobs, they communicate share information in local café, they gain support from network platform, they enjoy playful learning space. Also,The design will reflect a healthier future if make a meaningful contribution to solving the world's environmental problems.
Yameng Zhang is senior interior design student from Chengdu, China. Her undergraduate study in space design helps her grow interest in architectural and environmental design,where she is now passionate about. She loves traveling and photography to enrich her design thinking beyond skills. She wants to learn more about urbanism and traditions in different cultures.Aspects she likes about design is its visionaries to future. Design is not always about one thing. Those interdisciplinary design solution for space problem attract her.
