#ChallengeBias is a conceptual series of brief, informative videos designed to spread the influence of the research being done by the Kirwan Institute at The Ohio State University through social media platforms. The Kirwan Institute researches biases that surround race and ethnicity and works to create a just and inclusive society where all people and communities have the opportunity to succeed. Because the social issues that Kirwan is looking at are so nuanced, a traditional definitive call-to-action is not desirable. The videos thus serve to stir emotion in the viewer and motivate them to learn more by digging deeper into the resources available at the Kirwan Institute. The first video in the series takes a look at the racial inequality that exists in the housing market in America today and examines the policies and prejudices of the past that have steered it that way.

Jason Duffield is designer who believes in the power of sketching, and that true inspiration can come from anywhere. As a nontraditional student, Jason entered the Design program at OSU with plenty of technical proficiency, and leaves with a well-earned understanding of the value of research, generative design methods, and design thinking which were imparted by the program's dedicated faculty. A lover of all things outdoors, when Jason is away from his computer you will likely find him hiking a mountain trail or fishing a remote trout stream.
