Visual Communication Design, 2023

In the wake of the global pandemic and given the increasing popularity of alternative viewing methods, theaters are experiencing a decline in perceived relevance. This, as well as escalating commercialization of the industry, has led theaters to prioritize the number of times they can show a film. They are no longer museums for film, as the industry is much less concerned with an appreciation for the art form than it is with making money.

Coda is a network of applications designed to foster engagement among users, while educating them about their favorite films. An intimate, informational environment enriches the viewing experience, inspiring audiences to think more critically about the content they consume. This, in turn, helps to revitalize both their interest in and understanding of said content. A film is a work of art and showcasing this can usher a more genuine appreciation back into our theaters.
