Interior Design, 2014
Columbus, Ohio has been lighting up the social media as being named one of the top "intelligent, new opportunity, best place in the nation for college graduates" city. Because of Columbus's eclectic population, especially with the arts & tech sector intersecting with our university population, brings up the question "how do we bridge the gap between what the educational system teaches us and what the new generation needs to succeed the 21st century?" CoFourward is a coworking space for the Columbus community of 'independents' (freelancers, entrepreneurs, organizations, college students) - primarily for the design and tech sector - with all the necessary shared services (amenities) for a collaborative work space. The knowledge, experiences, and resources shared through co-working with both generations (depending who you sit next to) can change the way we work and learn to succeed in the 21st century.
Back in high school when students decide what areas of study they want to focus on in college, Leah Choi always wanted to do interior design because she believes interior design is essential and can change the world; as a designer we have the opportunity and the skills to create spaces that can change how people perform & behave. Leah's mission is to always keep the vision and needs of the client as top priority when it comes to inspire and improve their well being as well as evoking creativity, imagination, and efficiency.
On her spare time, Leah loves traveling, blogging, attending music festivals, collaborating and expressing any form of art whether it be photography, fashion, videography, etc.
Just recently, Leah was rewarded this year's Design Exhibition for Best Show Board for Interior Design 2014. This humble eye opening experience lead her to think she's going the right direction and also revitalized her hope and passion in wanting to be an aspiring interior designer. After graduation, Leah will be taking half a year off traveling around the world, and hopefully by the end of the year, she plans to finally get out of the Midwest and head towards the West Coast where she can find her identity, experience new opportunities, and chase big dreams.
