Domestication Guild: Community Alliance for the Betterment of Aggressive Animals

The main goal of the Domestication Guild is to be able to provide a safe and humane environment for the rehabilitation of the psychological health of aggressive dogs. About 3 to 4 million animals are euthanized each year and around half of the dogs relinquished to animal shelters are due to aggressive behaviors. Essentially, otherwise physically healthy animals are killed every year because there are no other options. There is a necessity to provide a space for psychological assessment and recuperation because aggression can come in many forms including territorial, protective, possessive, fear, defensive, social, frustration-elicited, redirected, pain-elicited, sex-related, or predatory as identified by the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA).
This program would be a great addition to the area as it has close proximity to the Franklin County Dog Shelter where the two could work together in the prevention of euthanasia of these animals.
During her years at The Ohio State University, Jasmine Berry has had the opportunity to volunteer with Philips, intern with Apple, and travel to Italy—among other things—all while completing a major in Interior Design and a minor in Spanish. Nevertheless, after years of being stuck in the confined environment of the educational system, Jasmine is excited to finally be free to travel and enjoy architecture and design.
