30.4% of households in the United States own one or more cats, and the total number of cats in the country is in excess of 74 million. The number one concern of can owner is inappropriate elimination. The current process of cleaning the litter is complicated and inefficient, leading to less frequent cleaning, making for an unpleasant environment for humans and cats. The new design replaces the traditional scooper and combines both closed and open features, saving cat lovers time and energy as well as providing a better experience of cleaning and maintaining the litter box.

Meng Wang is an industrial design major student, and she has a minor in studio art. She has been in dean's list throughout her college life. She had a great passion in art when she was a little. After entering college, industrial design triggered her interest in this field since she wants to design her own products which can be produced massively in the market someday. She is going to continue her study in industrial design in graduate school in order to learn more about it.
