Embrace

Interior Design, 2021

Studies show that areas with low socioeconomic status have a direct correlation with high infant mortality rates, and this correlation rings true for the town of Franklinton. Becoming a mother can be demanding as it is- but when the additional challenges that poverty entails are added in the mix, it can be extremely difficult to have a healthy pregnancy. Luckily, the local non-profit Moms2B has been actively combatting this issue by providing resources to pregnant moms that aid them in delivering healthy, full-term babies. Embrace will serve as a community space that houses Moms2B. It will not only support their programming, but it will expand upon it to become a holistic pregnancy and motherhood wellness center. From childcare, pregnancy education and healthcare, to counseling, group classes, and daily access to baby supplies, Embrace will become a home away from home for the new and soon-to-be moms of Franklinton.
