The Engine House Cinema is a small independent theatre located in Franklinton, Ohio in a historic fire engine station. Located at 540 W. Broad Street, The Engine House serves as a community gathering space for both East Franklinton residents as well as the incoming Columbus arts community. The program for The Engine House transforms an existing structure into an innovative program to serve the community of Franklinton through film, cultural arts, and community exchange.

The Engine House consists of a lounge space, a large screening room, and two smaller screening rooms which guests can rent out and pick their own movies. The concept inspiring the design of the theatre was developed around the idea of a strip of film. The rectangular shapes in the existing engine house structure are representative of film stills, while the ribbon leading through the space represents a roll of unwinding film. The Engine House offers Franklinton residents and the Columbus arts community a safe, fun, and sociable experience, giving film the ability to bring people together.
