FORWARD is an after school and summer community center for children and teens. The center has taken up residency in the old Kessler Store in Franklinton, OH. The Kessler Store was built in 1884 and is a community landmark. Franklinton has the highest high school dropout rate in the city. The center attempts to cater to the needs of local youth by providing a fun and conducive learning environment. FORWARD offers a multitude of different spaces in order to meet the wide variety of learning needs of its users. Their goal is to help students to graduate and develop skills, knowledge and relationships that will last a lifetime.

Emily Ettl

Emily Ettl is a graduating senior from The Ohio State University. Her field of study is interior design, she hopes that though her work she can improve the lives of others. Ohio State has equipped her with the tools she needs in order to become an environmentally conscious and universal designer. Emily has a special interest in restoring and repurposing old structures, she feels that every building has its own unique story and she wants to spender her career telling them.
