When it comes to college courses, students are often left to forgo any opportunity to accommodate their style of learning for a standard lecture or seminar style. Is there a way to enhance these courses to create a more engaging environment that students enjoy while making sure they retain the content being taught? One possible solution is to look towards using gamification within the course structure to help make the classroom a more fun and rewarding experience. Games encourage collaboration, critical thinking, and intrinsic motivation to task completion. With these traits, games and their methods can be the main tool to better the way education is executed.

Gameplan is a game design studio that aims to help teachers create new and enjoyable experiences built around their lesson plans through using gamification and game-based learning methods. Whether it be building a new syllabus or a whole virtual experience, Gameplan brings the professor into key moments in their process to make the content of the course or game customized to their lesson plan. Gameplan hopes to make learning fun while still providing accurate coursework the students will actively look forward to doing.
