Haven Center for Recovery
Heather Gaboury
Interior Design, 2015
With the prevalence and increasing recognition of eating disorders in today’s society, it is important that individuals feel supported and safe to receive treatment. Using the dual approach of psychiatric and behavioral treatment, therapeutic spaces present the opportunity to create a new type of healing environment. Haven is designed to be a community dedicated to promoting health & wellness while supporting the recovery process.
Heather Gaboury is a graduating senior in Interior Design at The Ohio State University. As a student, she completed four design internships that gave her valuable work experience and knowledge. Her passion lies in user experience and design research, which informs her designs. While balancing internships and her senior thesis, Heather has also been planning her own wedding- which she now understands was probably a bad idea to do all at the same time. She plans to pursue design research and a career in Interior Design upon graduation.
