HAWL Lawncare Utility Trailer

HAWL is a concept lawncare utility trailer that focuses on improving the experience of lawncare professionals as they interact with their clients, tools, machines, materials, and various job sites.

Utility trailers have remained largely unchanged for decades but still serve as the essential mobile base for lawncare professionals. HAWL aims to bring a fresh look at what a lawncare utility trailer could look like in the near future.

Research was conducted by interviewing and observing three local lawncare businesses of varying sizes and three areas of opportunities were focused on: accessibility, organization, and safety/security.  For example, the third-party market for racks and organizers is large. One thing that they all have in common is they require drilling or welding to attach to the frame of the trailer. Once installed, they are generally not moved. Different businesses have their own preferences on where tools and machines should be located. HAWL utilizes a blow-molded panel system that can be customized and quickly snapped on or off a steel tube frame. Lighter plastic also means lower fuel overhead and greater organizational flexibility, and less time spent installing racks while maintaining an open and accessible outer area surrounding the trailer.
