Honk!

Honk!

Jane Zucker

Visual Communication Design, 2023

Cars are confusing machines. Although we operate them every single day, most of us have no idea how cars work. Inspired by Patrice Bank's book Girls Auto Clinic Glove Box Guide, Honk! is an app made for those of us who are clueless when it comes to things like brakes and oil changes.

If a dashboard light comes on, smoke begins rising, or a car isn't starting, refer to the Report a Problem feature on the app to troubleshoot what is going on. Honk! will let you know if you should call for a tow, head to a mechanic ASAP, or if you’re good to go.

Honk! gives you access to a live chat, where you can receive expert advice and recommendations. And if your mechanic starts talking in terms you can no longer understand, refer to the lessons section where you can learn about your car’s complicated systems in simple terms.
