Intrepid: Hiking Coalition
Melina Oliver
Visual Communication Design, 2024
Intrepid is a hiking coalition that focuses on fostering safety and community within the outdoors community. The organization aims to empower users with the confidence and knowledge needed to hike independently. Intrepid believes that everyone should have access to the outdoors and should be able to confidently explore wherever they go.
The Intrepid app plays a pivotal role in achieving this goal, serving as an educational platform for trip planning and preparation with a core emphasis on safety. Integrating with wayfinding signs at trailheads, the app enables users to swiftly identify safety alerts and potential hazards along their trails. Lastly, users can connect with the Intrepid community through social media, allowing users to engage with others and collaboratively plan enjoyable and secure outdoor trips.
