KEKOU is an international food market that raises food culture awareness by teaching customers about international recipes and ingredients. Through the design of store graphics and digital applications, KEKOU creates an engaging grocery shopping experience for customers who are interested in international food cultures. KEKOU’s market houses basic ingredients from all over the world. The market is laid out based on continents. Each continent has three shelves of permanent products, and one monthly rotating food station, featuring one popular dish from a country in that continent. The market also offers lessons on cooking ethnic foods at its cooking studio.KEKOU’s app connects customers with the market further.Customers can search for recipes, navigate to products in-store, check out store news, earn rewards, and track their “world exploration” progress on the app.

Shuting Zhou is a 2020 graduate of the Visual Communication Design program at The Ohio State University. Animation, brand strategy, scenography, and user experience design are just a few of her passions.She hopes to use design to emotionally connect people through shared experiences.
