Legacy is an educational resource for the residents of Franklinton. It provides open makers-spaces, vocational classrooms, and a hardware store in a convenient location for Franklinton residents.
Franklinton is made up of people who have had to rebuild their lives for decades due to severe flooding in the area. With the history of the town, comes the art of craftsmanship. By providing a local hardware store and maker-space that is affordable, the legacy of craftsmanship can continue. The ultimate goal is to provide an easily accessible, educational resource for those who reside in Franklinton. By using this resource, Franklinton residents have the opportunity to learn building skills and the art of craftsmanship. They can practice those skills, and eventually be able to implement them in the community.

Samantha Detzel is a fourth year Interior Design student graduating in May. She is originally from Indianapolis and is excited to return back there after graduation. She has been passionate about design since she was in middle school and fought to make that dream a reality. She’s grown very fond of workplace design and how different environments can influence people’s motivation and how they work. She’s looking to pursue the workplace industry and see where her career leads.
