MealMate is a user-friendly social network service system designed to make reliable social contact by utilizing meal time.
Research proved that many people feel social pressure when they go out alone to eat. Social interaction is an important method to reduce the loneliness from this situation, but many people who move or travel to a new place lack enough time and chance to have new social gatherings. And since current social network service system lack enough reliability, many users stop at the step of online chat and cannot develop further social relationship.
The goal of MealMate is to provide more chance for users to build further relationship with mealmates to reduce their loneliness. MealMate utilizes meal time to social, provide more reliable user information by their footprint of restaurants, and cooperate with restaurants to provide better service and benefit to restaurant as well.
Vicky Jiang is an Industrial Designer from Nanjing, China. She enjoys to solve problems by finding pain points from users’ experience and believes that sustainable design can have a subtle influence on people's daily lives.
