When medications are taken as prescribed, patients live healthier lives. However, over half of patients do not take their medications as prescribed by their healthcare providers. The aging community is the most at risk for non-adherence, and the fastest growing population, creating urgency in the need for a solution.

The most common reasons for non-adherence in the elderly include failure to remember (which becomes increasingly more challenging with age), lack of transparency in course of treatment, and ineffective attempts to engage caregivers.

Milo is a smart product solution, blending physical products with digital platforms and a pharmacy service to support proper medication adherence.

Adrianna Andretta is an Industrial Design senior originally from Parkland, Florida. Her favorite aspects of design include user experience, brand development, and user research. Apart from design, Adrianna enjoys painting and spending too much time watching cat videos. After graduation, she will continue working for CoverMyMeds here in Columbus as a User ExperienceDesigner.
