In the fall of 2021, my mind was in a daze—I was simultaneously relishing all my memories from the summer, while in the real world, I held conversations with my peers where we discussed topics relating to how often our default answer is “good” in response to questions that dig too deep or feel too personal. Sure, I experienced the greatest summer ever, but would it mean anything if I never shared it with anyone? Thus, the nucleus of my thesis became: “Why don’t we thoughtfully engage in meaningful conversations with one another?”

momentum strives to answer this question. We are a concept coffee experience where meaningful conversations are held. At the end of the day, our focus is you: the human who inspires the community to form stronger connections with one other through conversation and time—good thing that’s exactly what we’re made of.

Cindy Kao is an ambitious, deeply curious designer who has a hunger for learning and adventure. She lavishes in the process of making art and picking up new languages in her free time. She would be remiss if she didn’t admit she also enjoys the newest juicy Netflix show just as much as everyone else.
