Interior Design, 2019

RISE is Franklinton, OH’s first Women’s Resource and Rehabilitation Center. Originally intended to provide necessities and resources for formerly incarcerated women, RISE services all women from varying backgrounds. The program is constructed around the principle that advocating for personal healing and providing a safe place is required to facilitate growth and change in other areas of women’s lives. The building simultaneously fosters connection and community through multiple gathering spaces. The building in which RISE inhabits is Engine House 6. The building was chosen based off it’s symbolism as a community resource as well as it’s Romanesque arches, which symbolize change and transformation in a spiritual sense.
