The ROTH
Madeline Cipro
Interior Design, 2017
The ROTH is a symbol of hope and renewal, where micro-apartments for the homeless create a community in Franklinton, Ohio.
With increasing rates of homeless individuals and families throughout Franklin County, The ROTH provides resources and support to residents, helping them grow towards independence.
The ROTH is not just a shelter, it’s a place for residents to call home. In addition to their individual apartment, spaces such as the communal living room and kitchen, full-time counseling and security, and career opportunities, offer a second chance to become self-sufficient and get back on their feet.

Madeline Cipro will be graduating this May with her BS in Interior Design. Originally from Rochester, NY, Madeline transferred to OSU after completing her AAS in Interior Design. She was drawn to Columbus for its vibrant design community and research-based academic program. Madeline has acquired valuable skills and experience here through classes, internships, part-time serving, and as a leader of IIDA. She plans on moving to New York City after graduation, and is excited for the opportunities ahead.
