Buses are designed to safely transport passengers from one destination to the other. However, the safety of the bus operator is often overlooked.

Row is the next fleet of electric buses designed to protect bus drivers during and after the COVID-19 pandemic, while promoting safe passenger and driver interactions. This low floor bus features a separate driver cabin aimed to shield the driver from airborne droplets and attacks. The driver cabin is spacious to allow for stretching room and personal space. Combined with a new fare and interaction system, Row provides the opportunity for passengers to engage with the drivers indirectly to promote a safe yet meaningful bus riding community.

Jenny Feng is an Industrial Designer from Shaker Heights, Ohio. As a proud first generation Asian American and college student, she aims to serve and learn from marginalized groups. She is interested in mobility, design justice, speculative design, sustainability, and technology. She hopes to use her problem solving and visualization skills in combination with her interests to help people and create meaningful products.
