Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) don’t always get the individual attention they need to succeed in school. When teachers work with a student one on one, other kids are left to do individual activities. This downtime isn’t explicitly educational and is unstructured, which creates anxiety for these children who thrive when given tasks to complete. Seek Potential, a digital learning game, gives kids with ASD a personalized, calming, and enriching use for their free time. Seek Potential is different from other learning games because it caters to the unique needs of children with ASD. The design focuses on minimal information, which means reducing textures, animations, and presenting problems individually. The game is customizable to individual interests, quickly engaging kids with ASD who fixate on a single subject. Seek Potential can be seamlessly integrated into the classroom setting to support each child with ASD as they reach their full potential.

Marek Mutch is a Visual Communications Designer from The Ohio State University. His areas of expertise include: branding/logos, layout, typography, user experience, motion design, 3D modeling, web, and film. Marek also earned a minor in psychology and hopes to integrate this interest with his design experience to facilitate human interactions with technology. In his free time, Marek enjoys spending time with his family and pets, composing music, hiking, kayaking, skiing, and other outdoor adventures.
