Smallworld

Visual Communication Design, 2017

Smallworld is an online, virtual community for kids, focused on the exchange of culture. Kids create a character and interact with their peers from all over the world, sharing their culture and learning about others in a fun, interactive way!

The basic structure of Smallworld can be broken down into three main categories: creating, sharing, and earning. The creation phase is a one-time step that begins the journey into Smallworld. Once the creation phase complete, kids can move on to sharing and earning. Sharing is the main focus of Smallworld, allowing kids to exchange culture with one another. Earning rewards kids for sharing and keeps kids motivated to explore and learn within Smallworld.

Smallworld allows kids up to see differences and similarities in cultures, break down stereotypes, widen perspectives, and be better prepared for an ever more globally connected world.
