Women's Lacrosse Helmet

Industrial Design, 2016
Women's lacrosse has a shockingly high rate of head injuries and concussions, and players currently wear no protective equipment except goggles to cover their eyes. A women's lacrosse-specific helmet is needed in the sport to keep players safe. This design uses a compressed foam material to offer a lightweight and minimal solution that protects WLAX players from the types of hits they're most likely to suffer from. It offers a dial adjustment system to make sure that it can fit any size head comfortably. The separate, moving piece also allows for an opening in the back for players to wear their hair in a ponytail (the way they're most comfortable) without hindering protection.

Originally from the Philadelphia area, she found design through a love of illustration and storytelling, and uses those skills in a practical way to solve real-world problems. Looking to the future, she hopes to apply the lessons learned in the OSU design program to a wide range of products and ideas.
