Woven

Woven is a semi-interactive, hand-illustrated book that explores the overlapping recollection of a couple's first "I love you" experience. The project was inspired by a fascination of the fragility of memory (learned in a social psychology class at Ohio State). Emily and Max were interviewed separately and asked to recall this shared experience in their own words. Later, the manuscripts were laid out, contrasted, then intertwined to compose the final story. Illustrations inspired by the narrative were then paired with the two-voiced text to holistically tell the story of Emily and Max—a "woven" narrative.
